Baha Mar FAM trip Recap
Discovering Baha Mar: A Luxurious Bahamian Escape
When people talk about Nassau, it’s impossible not to mention Baha Mar, a sprawling oceanfront destination that feels like its own vibrant world. What makes Baha Mar unique is that it’s not just one resort, but three distinct properties under one umbrella, each designed for a different type of traveler:
Grand Hyatt Baha Mar – The largest of the three, perfect for families, groups of friends, and travelers who want endless dining, entertainment, and activity options at their fingertips.
Rosewood Baha Mar – A refined, residential-style retreat for those seeking elegance, privacy, and elevated luxury.
SLS Baha Mar – Chic and stylish, attracting couples and groups who want a lively social scene, modern design, and nightlife energy.
For my trip, I stayed at the Grand Hyatt Baha Mar, and it struck the perfect balance of excitement, variety, and comfort. Between the casino, multiple pools, the fountain show, and countless restaurants, I quickly realized this is a place where you can design your own version of paradise — whether that’s lounging by turquoise waters or staying up late with world-class entertainment

The Casino: Caribbean Glamour at Its Best
One of Baha Mar’s biggest draws is its on-site casino, the largest in the Caribbean. With over 1,100 slot machines, more than 100 live table games, and a sleek sports betting lounge, it’s a hub of excitement and glamour. Even if you’re not a regular gambler, the vibrant atmosphere and ocean-view backdrop make it worth a visit.

Marcus at Baha Mar: A Culinary Highlight
One of the culinary highlights of the trip was dinner at Marcus, helmed by celebrity chef Marcus Samuelsson. The menu was vibrant and full of flavor, perfectly blending Caribbean ingredients with Samuelsson’s creative flair. Every dish felt like an experience in itself.
Fun tidbit: There’s also a Marcus in the Four Seasons Montreal, so stumbling upon this one in Nassau felt like a small reminder of home.

T² Cigar Lounge: A Nightcap with Legends
For a more intimate, late-night experience, head to the T² (T-Squared) Cigar Lounge, co-owned by Derek Jeter and Tiger Woods. The combination of hand-rolled cigars, expertly crafted cocktails, and stylish atmosphere makes it one of the resort’s signature evening escapes.
Pools and Waterpark Fun
The resort’s aquatic offerings are spectacular. The Grand Hyatt alone has six pools, each with its own personality. Across the full Baha Mar complex, there are 10+ pools, including family-friendly options and adults-only escapes.
Then there’s Baha Bay, the resort’s massive waterpark. With 24 waterslides, a lazy river, surf simulator, and wave pool, it’s a playground for all ages. I took on the WaveRunner ride, and let’s just say my thumb didn’t come out unscathed—but it was all in good fun!

Flamingo Parade: A Tropical Surprise
One of the most delightful daily rituals at Baha Mar is the Flamingo Parade. Each morning, these elegant birds strut across the resort grounds, creating playful photo opportunities and a whimsical connection to Bahamian wildlife.

The Royal Blue Golf Course
Golfers will be in heaven at Baha Mar. The Royal Blue Golf Course, an 18-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature design, combines lush fairways with sweeping ocean views. Even if you’re not a serious player, walking the course is breathtaking. For enthusiasts, it’s one of the most scenic and challenging courses in the Caribbean.

The Dancing Fountain: Evening Magic
As the sun sets, Baha Mar transforms into a visual spectacle. The dancing fountain show—complete with music, lights, and choreographed water displays—is a must-see. Standing there with a cocktail in hand, watching the water move in perfect rhythm to the music, it’s easy to see why this has become one of the resort’s signature evening experiences.

Why Baha Mar Belongs on Your Travel List

From world-class dining at Marcus to signature experiences like the Flamingo Parade, the Royal Blue Golf Course, the dancing fountain, and the on-site casino, Baha Mar offers a full spectrum of luxury, fun, and adventure.
